Russian missile strike on Ukraine apartments

 On Sunday, the death toll from a Russian missile strike in the southeastern city of Dnipro rose to 30, as first responders searched the rubble of an apartment building for survivors and bodies.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Saturday that at least 73 people were injured when explosions ripped through all nine floors of the building.

"Dozens of people, injured and traumatized, could have been saved," Zelenskyy said. "Among them are children, with the youngest girl being three years old."

By Sunday afternoon, 39 people had been rescued, and the Dnipro city government reported 43 people missing.According to Zelenskyy, more than 20 of the 30 missiles launched against Ukrainian targets were shot down. The attacks also targeted Kyiv, the capital, and Kharkiv, a city in northeastern Ukraine. Energy infrastructure was once again targeted, a common theme in Russian attacks in recent months.

"This is clearly terrorism, and everything is simply not human," said local Artem Myzychenko as he cleared rubble.

According to Zelenskyy, repair crews would work around the clock to restore power generation.

"The enemy will undoubtedly receive our response (to the strikes) on the battlefield," Zelenskyy said. "Our troops will do that."
